Description

This beautiful side table is a fine example of traditional Syrian design. The side table is of typical form, featuring a hexagonal lobed tabletop raised on six feet. The top is profusely inlaid with geometrical arrangements of varicoloured wood marquetry and mother-of-pearl, a decorative form common to much Islamic design. The six legs are similarly adorned, as are the shaped aprons between each of the legs and the shelf-form stretcher that joins the legs below. The legs terminate in integral curved feet.
