The set comprises twelve individual porcelain figures and groups, including figures dancing, playing musical instruments, holding flowers and fruit, and standing with animals. Each figure is modelled wearing traditional 18th Century clothing and stands on a naturalistic plinth base with gilt detailing around the edges.
The figures are stamped to the underside with a variety of marks for Dresden porcelain, including a triple-pointed crown mark, an 'R' mark and a crossed swords mark. There is no single official mark for 'Dresden porcelain', as the name refers to a collection of different porcelain decorating workshops operating out of the German town.
