This superb sculpture group is crafted from cold-painted bronze in the Orientalist style. The large piece is by Franz Xaver Bergman, who is celebrated for his figurative bronzes. The group depicts a standing man in the midst of prayer: his arms are outstretched and he looks towards the heavens, while he stands barefoot on a prayer rug. The bronze throughout is superbly cast and rendered, with the most intricate of details finely depicted, while the colour palette is bright and vibrant.
