Mayfair Gallery x Ducie: Where Antiques Meet Fashion

We are excited to share our collaboration with the British fashion brand Ducie. Photographed by Will Aldersley, the shoot exudes luxury, comfort and style, and places contemporary fashion alongside historical relics of centuries past.

The model, Sasha Khmelovska, is dressed in Ducie’s latest clothing range with her hair and make-up inspired by the 1960s Bond girls. Our London gallery, filled with luxurious, high-quality pieces beautifully sets the scene, providing a dazzling backdrop of historical objects and artworks with a rich aesthetic appeal.

Above left: Appearing as if on her shopping trip, the model looks directly at the camera. A white silky jumpsuit is paired with a chic and cosy Mongolian sheepskin coat, the outfit superbly matching the surrounding antiques. One’s attention is drawn to the large and shimmering Peruvian Mario Carlo Camusso silver tea and coffee set displayed on an elegant ormolu mounted rosewood and marble centre table with an expertly painted opaline glass vase by Baccarat set just behind.

Above right: Khmelovska is pictured reflected in a monumental floral Venetian glass mirror. A sweet pair of Rococo-style Meissen porcelain vases and an exquisite pair of ormolu and Chinese cloisonné enamel lamps decorate the table in front of the model. Reflected in the mirror is the charming painting by Francesco Beda titled ‘The Little Model’ which also too showcases modelling but from some 150 years before our fashion photoshoot!

Above left: In the background stand two large Canton famille Jaune porcelain vases, while in the foreground is a monumental patinated gilt bronze Orientalist sculpture and a very large Japanese Meiji period cloisonné enamel vase. These antiques frame the model, accentuating the plush and silky textures of the fabrics, whilst bringing to the fore the complexities of the antiques, in both form and decorative quality.

Above: Dressed in a long version of the Ducie Mongolian sheepskin coat, the model is surrounded by several antiques depicting youthful figures. A young aristocratic lady, Miss Alice Addison Crofton expertly painted by Herbert Sidney in 1901 gazes towards the camera from behind the model. Crofton’s elegant body and one of a pair of impressive parcel-gilt Bohemian glass vases reflect in the French Rococo Revival giltwood mirror. To the model’s left stands Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux’s patinated bronze young Neapolitan fisherboy listening to the sound of the sea in his seashell.

We have really enjoyed working with the Ducie team, a group of people who showed great interest in our vast collection of antiques. Thank you to Ducie Keam-George for organising this photoshoot.
